Is it worse to join AZD/KD/AXO or just not join a sorority?

Hi. I participated in rush week last year. I don't want to go into a lot of the details, but I was very disappointed I didn't get a bid. Actually, I feel rather shocked. Things seemed to be going along well. I was invited to my chosen fraternity's events throughout the week and was expecting a bid. What could have gone wrong? All my friends have been accepted to fraternities and sororities. It seems a bit mean to me.

Why would I not be extended a bid? Due to my college? My major? Where I am from?

What can I do now to improve my chances? Any chance to join now? Would they even accept me? Any chance this year? or is sophmore year too late?

Clearly, I will now be seperated from my friends in way of hanging out and housing. Its like starting over socially. What can I do now? I like to party (not to excess), but where can I go if not to a frat?

I'm very likable. I am a a guy's guy. I like and play sports. I am smart and committed. I am averagely handsome. I am cool in a aloof way (i.e. not a man of many words), but not cocky.
