Can anyone give one good argument as to why we shouldn't allow gay people to get married?

I don't want any of that religious crap, and please don't tell me we shouldn't allow it because gay couples can't have children (sterile heterosexuals shouldn't get married by that logic).

In the spirit of some of the other political posts on here, and in light of the recent votes in Colorado and Washington, I wanted to see what people have to say about legalizing weed.

(Stereotypical stoner conversation, I know, but something I have yet to find a satisfying answer on)

Yes, I know weed is considered by many to be a "drug," and yes, I know it can have "harmful" effects on the body, but can anyone give me a satisfying explanation as to why marijuana should be illegal, while it is statistically less harmful/deadly than tobacco, alcohol, McDonalds food, and a bunch of other things?

I don't know if I'll ever understand how "a few beers at a bar with the guys after work" or "girls night with wine and cheese" are totally socially acceptable, while smoking a joint with some friends and listening to some good music is an awful thing to do.

Any thoughts?

Anyone else seen the epidemic of power rack/oly platform curlers at Noyes? I don't know what is with these fratstars, YOU DO NOT NEED THE POWER RACK TO LIFT 45 POPPYCOCKING POUNDS. It's designed for people doing heavy lifts and ones that require a safety in case they fail, poppycock, how hard is that to understand. Not to mention there is only one power rack at Noyes and some dyel Asian with a Pi Kapp sweatshirt is doing bar-only curls for 45 minutes in there. PSA: do not curl or do other gay shit in the power rack, pick up some poppycocking dumbbells and do it elsewhere. There is also a EZ-curl bar made specifically for what you are doing, and it DOESN'T go in the power rack.

Anways, the story: went to Noyes the other day and there was a new low: So I'm deadlifting and some guy on the other platform has only the bar held behind his back by his ass and is curling his wrists rapidly up and down fast as poppycock. Walk over there and was like "what is that are you doing triceps bro?" and he is like "no, forearm isolation I read it was really good, feels great" meanwhile some huge guy is clearly waiting to use the oly platform to actually lift behind this guy. Literally had nFull post not shown.
