View Thread Dear Tenants:
On Sunday night, the first floor front porch of 208 Williams Street collapsed. You may have already been aware of this incident. I am writing to further inform you of what happened.
Since the time we were informed of the problem on Monday morning, we have had a structural expert evaluate the collapsed porch. In fact, the fractures of the floor joists splintered in a fashion which is indicative of overstress from excessive weight.
From many eyewitness reports, we have ascertained that there were an extreme number of people, with estimates of as many as 50 people, "crammed shoulder to shoulder" on this 12 ft. x 12 ft. porch.
We have just completed a high quality, major renovation of this house. It was fully gutted, and the floor plan was reconfigured, which included major structural reinforcement. A new heat, plumbing and electrical system were installed. All new fixtures, furniture and carpet were also iFull post not shown.
